We are so excited to share some remarkable academic accomplishments of our current students and alumni.
Accelerated Reader Program: 99% of our 1st-graders are reading at or above grade level. Seven of our 1st-graders are reading at a 5th or 6th grade level. Almost 80% read at a 3rd-grade level or higher. These young Wildcats are hitting it out of the park! Way to go, students and teachers!!!!
On the other end of the spectrum…As you may or may not know, our above-level 8th grade students take Algebra I from Mr. Schwalbe. Our Algebra I students planning to attend Nolan Catholic High School then take an Algebra Mastery Exam for their freshman Math placement. All of our students are eligible to enroll in Geometry (although some may opt to take another year for additional foundational scaffolding). Over 40% of our students that sat for the exam were recommended for Geometry Honors. Of the 100+ 8th graders across the entire Diocese of Fort Worth who took the exam, Saint Andrew had 5 of the top 8 scores including the highest score overall. I am so proud of the hard work of these students — as well as the solid preparation by their teacher. Hard to believe we only have one more week with these students. Good job, Class of 2017!
