Nationally recognized Physical Education Teacher, Coach Shannon Irwin, teaches P.E. to all students in grades 5K – 8th. Students in grades 1st – 8th have P.E. twice a week; students in 5K have P.E. once a week; and students in grades 3K and 4K have “gross motor time” in the gym once a week with their classroom teacher. In addition to teaching P.E., Coach Irwin sponsors the SAS Wildcat Run Club, a club for students and their families. Run Club is held after school on Thursday afternoons from 3:10 – 4 p.m. With 165 student members, it is currently the largest club Saint Andrew Catholic School has to offer.
Organized coed team sports are offered after school for all students in grades 6-8. They compete against other diocesan school teams in volleyball, soccer, basketball, track, softball, and baseball. Football is offered after school for students in grades 5th – 8th by a Diocesan League. It is not coed. Cheerleading is offered after school for students in grades 7-8.
