Week of May 14-18

The Blue Folder is coming home on Monday.  Any "sign and return" papers should be returned in the signed folder on Tuesday.

Religion this week will be a Review of the Unit 5 Lessons.  After going over and completing the pages, the students will review for the Unit 5 Test.  This Test will be given on Thursday.  On Friday the students will be given the End of the Year Test.

Students have completed all the Lessons in Math.  This week we will review previous skills, and students will be given math activities to do.

Week of May 7-11

On Monday the students will bring home their Blue Folders with Graded Papers.  After parents look over the papers, any "sign and return" papers should be returned on Tuesday along with the signed folder.

This week the schedule is normal.  Please send food or other items on Wednesday for Social Ministry.

Religion this week is Chapter 20, "We Go Forth in the Holy Spirit".  Students will discuss gifts, senses, blessings, and loving and serving others.  The Test will be on Friday.

Week of April 30-May 4

The Blue Folder with Graded Work will come home on Monday.  After looking over papers with a parent, the folder should be signed and returned with any "sign and return" papers.

There are several activities and changes in schedule this week:  

On Monday the students will be attending the 4th grade Music Program in the gym at 2:00.  

On Tuesday students may bring flowers to school, and they will be going to church at 2:00 for the 8th Grade May Crowning and Living Rosary.  

Week of April 23-27

Due to Mr. Kershaw's funeral, the students will be dismissed at 1:00 on Monday. Please keep the Kershaw family in your prayers.

On Monday students will bring home their blue folder with graded work to look over.  The folder should be signed, and in it should be any "sign and return" papers.

Week of April 16-20

The Blue Folder is coming home on Monday with the graded work from the previous week.  Any "sign and return" papers should be returned in the signed folder on Tuesday.

Religion this week is Chapter 19 "We Work for Peace and Justice".  "Happy are those who are fair with others".  "Happy are those who make peace" - Matthew 5:6,9.  The Test will be on Friday.  

Week of April 10-13

Blue Folder is coming home on Tuesday with graded work.  After reviewing it, the folder should be signed and returned with any "sign and return" papers.

On Wednesday bring items for Social Ministry, if able to do so.

Religion this week is Chapter 18 on Peace and Service. Students will be discussing the sacraments of Holy Orders and Matrimony, and they'll read about the Pope.  The Test will be on Friday.

Week of April 2-5

The Blue Folder is coming home on Monday with graded work.  After reviewing papers with a parent, the folder should be signed, as well as any "sign and return" papers.

On Wednesday we will have Mass, and items for the needy would be greatly appreciated.

On Holy Thursday the students won't have any academic subjects.  The morning will be devoted to religious services and activities.  Dismissal will be at 11:50.

Week of March 26-30

Blue Folder coming home Monday with graded work.  Papers with "sign and return" should be signed and placed in the signed blue folder and returned on Tuesday.

Please send items for Social Ministry on Wednesday, if you are able to do so.

Religion this week will include Holy Week pages in the back of the Religion Text, and a Holy Week Booklet to be completed in class.  The students won't need to study for a test at home.

Week of March 19-23

Blue Folder is coming home on Monday with graded work.  After looking over the papers and mistakes, please sign the folder, and return any "sign and return" papers.

We will have Mass on Wednesday, so please send items for social ministry, if you are able to do so.

Religion this week is an introduction to Unit 5 and Chapter 17 "God Gives Us the Holy Spirit".  The students will learn about spiritual gifts and discuss St. Thomas and St. Catherine.  The Test will be on Friday.

Week of March 5-9

Blue Folder with graded work is coming home on Monday.  Any "sign and return" papers should be returned on Tuesday.  

Items for the needy can be sent on Wednesday.  We will be going to Mass.

Week of February 27-March 2

Blue Folder coming home Monday with graded work.  After looking over the papers, the folder should be signed and returned along with any papers that say "sign and return".

We will have Mass this Wednesday.  Please send items for the needy, if you are able to do so.  It might be nice to have the students do something to earn the item they bring.

Friday will be our Field Trip to Amon Carter.  We will leave around 11:30 and return by 1:30 or so.  Students must be in full uniform for this Field Trip - No Spirit Wear.

Week of February 20-24

Blue Folder is coming home Monday with graded work.  After going over the papers the folder should be signed and returned.  Any "sign and return" papers should be placed inside the folder.

On Monday the Ellis Island report is due on the country and topic assigned. The students will begin meeting in class with their families on Tuesday.

Tuesday morning we will be having a little Mardi Gras Parade of floats in the hall after prayers and announcements.

Week of February 13-17

Blue Folder is coming home on Monday.  Students and parents should go over graded papers, blue folder should be signed, and any "sign and return" papers should be returned in the folder on Tuesday.

Tuesday is our Valentine Party at 2:15.  Students need to bring valentines for each person in the class, if they choose to bring cards.

Mass is on Wednesday, and items for Social Ministry are always appreciated.

Week of February 6-9

Blue Folder coming home on Monday with Graded Work to look over carefully with a Parent.  Any Sign and Return papers are due back on Tuesday, along with the Blue Folder.

Our Class is being celebrated as Class of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.  Each child is to have some talent ready to perform for the class.

No School on Friday due to a Diocesan In-Service for the Staff

Week of January 30-February 3

Blue Folder coming home Monday with Graded Work.

Students should continue to practice any reading parts for Wednesday's Mass.

Grandparents' Day on Thursday - 11:50 dismissal or earlier if checked out in the room.

Conferences on Friday, if one has been scheduled.

Religion this week includes a lesson in our text on Catholic School's Week, intercom prayers said each morning by our class, and the students have also been preparing for this week's Wednesday Liturgy. There will be no test this week.

Week of January 23-27

Blue Folder with Graded Work is coming home on Monday.

Field Trip to Bass Hall is Tuesday.  

Our Mass is next Wednesday.  If your child brings home a reading part, please help them practice reading it clearly, loudly, and slowly.  

We also have Intercom Prayers each day next week.  The children will practice for those in class.

Week of January 17-20

Religion this week is a review of Unit 3, which were lessons on the Liturgy of the Word.  The Unit Test will be on Thursday.

Math Lessons 78-80 this week include telling time to the 5 minute intervals, adding three 2-digit numbers with a sum greater than 100, and Fact Assessments for minus 2 and 3 and 100 addition problems, and a Written Assessment.

Week of January 9-13

Religion this week is Chapter 12 "We Pray for Others".  Students will learn about different types of prayer and discuss the Prayer of the Faithful at Mass.  The Test will be on Friday.

Math this week includes lessons 75-77 on liquid containers, writing and drawing pictures of 3-digit numbers, identifying the median of a set, and taking fact and written assessment tests.  

Week of January 3-6

Religion this week is Chapter 11 "We Act on God's Word".  Students will learn about the Works of Mercy.  The Test will be on Friday.

Math Lessons 71-74 include mental computation of subtracting 10, measuring and drawing line segments to the nearest half inch, adding 2-digit numbers with a sum greater than 100, representing and ordering numbers, and subtracting 1 and 2. We will not have a test this week.

Week of December 12-16

Religion this week will include some Advent and Christmas activities.  We will not have a Test.

Math Lessons 67-70 will include identifying a.m. and p.m., dozen and half dozen, adding 3 two-digit numbers, reading a thermometer to the nearest 2 degrees, subtracting 0 and 1, introduction of subtracting 2, and 2 Tests.
