HOLIDAY OUTREACH 2011!

Saint Andrew Social Ministry is happy to announce the return of Holiday Outreach 2011! There are two parts to Holiday Outreach: 1- The Holiday Boxes – Each homeroom will be asked to put together 2 “Big Boxes” and 2 “Small Boxes” filled with a specific list of items necessary to complete a holiday meal for families in need.  Each class may handle how boxes are filled a little differently. You should be receiving information from your class liaison soon. Empty boxes (with lists attached) will be distributed to the classrooms after the school mass on October 26. A supply of empty boxes will also be available in the faculty room, should your class decide to fill more than 2 small and 2 big boxes.  The class that fills the most boxes will have a pizza party.  Second place will have an ice cream party, and third place will have a donut party. Filled boxes must be returned, taped shut, and placed outside your homeroom on Tuesday, November 8, before 2:45pm.  2- Monetary Contributions – This year’s fundraising goal has been increased to $30,000. Your generosity allows the pantry to provide those in the Saint Andrew Catholic Church family all the perishables necessary for their Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, as well as providing their children with gifts at Christmas. The pantry is also able to provide a turkey or ham for every family who comes to our Food Pantry for assistance the week before the holiday.
