The Annual Fund Needs You!

Last year, 63% of our SAS families gave to the Annual Fund.  We were then able to install a state of the art computer media lab in the library.  All students from preschool to 8th grade use this lab.

This year, we are praying that 100% of our SAS families will give to the Annual Fund.  Every gift, regardless of amount, counts!  This shows that our families support our mission.  Foundations and corporations that provide grants want to see at least 70 to 80% parent participation to award us more money.  Last year, the Amon Carter Foundation gave us $10,000 and the Meinerz Foundation awarded us $25,000.  Just think of the possibilities if we had 100% participation!

As of December 1st, 169 families (38%) have given to the Annual Fund.  Won't you please join your fellow SAS parents and support the Annual Fund that benefits all SAS students?

Grade Level representatives will be out in front of the school the week of December 9th from 2:30 to 3:00 for your convenience with pledge cards.  Please bring your checkbook or credit card so you will be a proud SAS Annual Fund supporter.  Thank you in advance and may you and your family have a blessed Christmas and a joy filled New Year!

Second Grader Excels at Reading Bee

Congratulations to Saint Andrew Catholic School second grade student Zahra Stevick for winning 2nd place at the North Texas State Reading Bee held at TCU in November. Zahra read on an 11th grade level surpassing the best competitors from other ISDs including FWISD, Dallas ISD, and Arlington ISD.

Duke Scholars

The Duke Scholars program allows 7th graders who score 95% or higher on certain subtests of a nationwide achievement test to take the ACT or SAT college entrance exams.  This year, 63% of our 7th graders scored at that level on the Iowa Basic Skills Test and were named Duke Scholars.  We congratulate:
