The reading interventionist works collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify students who may need more individualized and personalized reading instruction in order to be successful. To meet the diverse needs of these students, the instructor implements effective reading instruction/assessment through direct, small group instruction within pull out or push in groups. This supplemental instruction supports and extends classroom teaching, and allows additional opportunities for remediation. As the students develop a solid reading foundation, they become more confident with their reading skills, more engaged in the reading instruction, and more successful throughout the reading process.
